As CEO of Newport Hospitality Group, Andrew Carey oversees the company’s efforts to deliver exceptional guest experiences, drive strong owner returns, and build meaningful careers. With expertise in real estate development, value creation, and service management, he plays a pivotal role in ensuring Newport remains one of the most admired hotel management companies in the Eastern United States.
Andrew works closely with Newport’s senior leadership team, spanning operations, sales, accounting, and training, to provide NHG-managed hotels with the expertise needed to enhance financial performance and brand reputation. Additionally, he leads the company’s capital transactions, working directly with investors, bankers, and franchisors to strategically position Newport for long-term success.
His journey in hospitality began in a hands-on role as a ranch hand on his family farm before earning his undergraduate degree from Duke University and an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, where he specialized in real estate and operational management. His early career included roles in investment and consulting, giving him a deep understanding of high-performance teams and goal-oriented leadership.
When he’s not exploring new hotel opportunities or negotiating deals, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, skiing in Vermont, and tending to his bees and maple trees.
